NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 wins Computex Best Choice Award

The award-winning NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 has added another feather to its cap by capturing the Best Choice of Computex Taipei 2010 – Jury’s Special Award.

This year's competition attracted a record-breaking 416 products from 170 manufacturers – a 10 percent increase from 2009 – competing in eight electronic product categories, including Computer and System, Display and Digital Entertainment, and Peripherals and Accessories. Nominated products were stringently assessed by a jury comprising local and foreign judges from the technology industry and academia. They evaluated the nominated products based on innovation, marketability and technicality.

“NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 is indeed an impressive candidate among all the nominated products for this year’s Best Choice Award,” said the jury of the Best Choice Award. “It presents a variety of innovations like its robust tessellation performance, scalable geometry architecture, and many future-proof features, enabling outstanding horsepower for the latest and the most demanding consumer applications.”

“We are so delighted that NVIDIA has received this great honor from Taipei Computer Association for two years in a row,” said Drew Henry, General Manager for NVIDIA’s PC GPU Business Unit, who was also at last year’s ceremony when the ION picked up the Best Choice Overseas Enterprise award in 2009.

Dr Ma Ying Jeou, President of Taiwan, was the guest of honour at the award ceremony held at TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall.

Over at the NVIDIA 3D Experience Center, partners, press and the public thronged the tent to check out NVIDIA’s latest offerings, including the 3D Vision PCs and notebooks, 3D Vision Surround, 3DTV Play, ION-based netbooks, nettops, all-in-one (AIO) PCs, do-it-yourself systems, and Quadro-based systems.

The show doesn’t stop even when the sun sets. If you’re interested in gaming, come down to the NVIDIA 3D Experience Center around the corner intersecting Song Shou Road and Song Ren Road, Shinyi District, Taipei City tonight (June 1) to play Street Fighter 4 in 3D on a giant 300-inch screen.
